Scheduled for this Fall, the « Sports Gala Evening » will be replaced by a longer lasting recognition of the importance of sports in the Town’s community.     

Instead of holding an event, the TMR Centennial Celebration Society and its volunteer committee have decided to publish a booklet honouring people, living or having lived in the Town of Mount Royal, who have distinguished themselves by their involvement and/or participation in sports.

Many arguments lead to this change of format: the possibility of honouring a larger number of citizens, reaching a greater accessibility within the community and outside, and the production of a written document that will become part of the town’s legacy, available to future generations.

The booklet honouring sports will be prepared by the volunteer committee in collaboration with the Town of Mount Royal and be ready for publication at the       beginning of 2013.
