Teachers and educators working in schools or daycare centres in Mount Royal are eligible for a free library membership.
School teachers and daycare workers who are not Town residents must have their membership sponsored by the school principal or daycare centre director, the school or daycare centre thereby assuming the responsibility for lost and damaged items as well as late fees.
Teachers and educators may borrow up to twenty-four books for a period of three weeks.
All students must have a library card to be able to use our services. Students enrolled in a Town of Mount Royal elementary or secondary school may become library members free of charge during the school year.
To register a child, a parent must come to the library with a recent proof of residence, such as a driver’s license, as well as an official document in the child's name, such as a medicare card. For students not living in Town of Mount Royal, the school principal must provide a document certifying that the child is enrolled at the school. Parents must bring this document, along with the two other pieces of identification required, to the library.
No loan will be granted to a child without a library card.
Students may borrow up to four documents (books and/or audio) for a period of three weeks.
Let us know what topics your students are studying and when they will need the materials. We will identify and, if necessary, reserve the materials related to your class assignment. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Considering the high demand for this service, please contact the library as early as possible, at least one week before your class visit. One class at a time will be admitted.
Reserve a special time for your class to visit the library in order to use materials related to class assignments. Library cards are not necessary if the materials are used in the library.
Visits can be scheduled to the library every three weeks to borrow books and to use our resources. Contact the children's librarian to book your class's special time at the library. To ensure a place in the schedule, teachers interested in regularly scheduled visits should book as early as 10:00 on August 29. Space is limited. No reservation will be taken before that date.
