Mission


 

The Technical Services Department plays a prominent role in the Town’s physical development, by both assisting other Town departments with contractual issues and planning work on the Town’s infrastructure.

The main focuses of the Technical Services Department’s work are:

  • construction, renovation and demolition permits
  • business permits and signage
  • the Planning Advisory Committee (CCU)
  • household waste collection
  • pick-up of recyclable materials and household hazardous waste (HHW)
  • street lighting and public spaces
  • traffic, traffic control in all its forms, snow removal and public domain permits
  • curbside parking
  • road and sidewalk repair
  • sewer system
  • water distribution system
  • planning, management and care of the plantings
  • maintenance of the Town’s buildings, community halls and recreational facilities

Three divisions: make your choice

Contact Engineering about collection/pick-up (garbage, recyclables, household hazardous waste, etc.), maps or planned work involving public spaces and municipal systems (sewers, water distribution, street lighting, signage, etc.).

Contact Urban Planning about inspections, obtaining permits, zoning, the interpretation and application of by-laws regarding, among other things, construction, renovation and other work on private property.

Contact Public Works about the preservation, maintenance and improvement of the Town’s infrastructures, parks and other green spaces, urban forest and buildings.
