Water Supply By-law No. 1419

By-law No. 1419 covers the entire drinking water distribution system in the territory of Mount Royal, from the water intake to the point of consumption.

It sets out the conditions applicable to the supply of drinking water to residents and their use of it. The by-law also sets the water consumption rates, establishes the rules governing water meters and billing and specifies Town of Mount Royal’s general powers regarding its distribution system, including in emergency situations.

In addition, By-law No. 1419 details the periods during which watering is permitted, the procedures applicable to the use of drinking fountains and the Town’s standards for pipes, fittings and connections.

Lawn Watering: Hours Permitted

From May 1 to October 1, manual watering of lawns, gardens and other vegetal elements is allowed between 6:00 and 8:00 and between 18:00 and 22:00 on even-numbered calendar days for buildings with an even civic number, and on odd-numbered calendar days for those with an odd civic number.

For buildings equipped with an automatic sprinkler system, watering is allowed from 3:00 to 6:00 on the same days, once again according to the street number.
