By-law No. 1400 Concerning Grants for Town Centre Commercial Buildings

By-law No. 1400 enables owners or tenants of Town Centre business establishments to receive, under certain conditions, a grant to compensate for the cost of enlargement or alteration work on their buildings.

This by-law applies to exterior claddings, fronts of ground floor businesses, canopies, signs, exterior lighting, building access structures and other architectural components.

A grant application may be submitted by the owner or tenant of a commercial building. The maximum grant amount for a single address is equal to one third of the cost of the work concerned by the grant up to $30,000 to $55,000, depending on the building type.

Please note that this by-law applies only to Town Centre business establishments; other Mount Royal business areas are not provided with an equivalent incentive.
