Subdivision By-law No. 1313

By-law No. 1313 applies to every proposed cadastral operation, regardless of whether it includes streets or pertains to one or several lots.

It ensures consistency with the layout of thoroughfares established in the urban plan for Town of Mount Royal and thus addresses issues relating to rights-of-way and regulates all cadastral operations on the territory of Mount Royal, including the definition of front, rear and side property lines.

By-law No. 1313 also deals with the issues of servitudes and acquired rights. Lastly, the by-law includes provisions relating to the cession of land for parks and playing fields.

Finding your way through Urban Planning By-Laws

Although they are all part of the Town’s urban planning framework, it is important not to confuse the zoning, subdivision, building and related by-laws. To help you understand the differences, we offer the following summary:
