1358 - Selective Collection of Recuperable Secondary Materials and Refuse Collection
Mount Royal residents generate many tonnes of waste in year, which consist largely of recuperable materials. By-law No. 1358 is primarily aimed at protecting the environment and human health. In addition to setting out the collection schedule for all categories of buildings in Mount Royal, this by-law also defines rules for the disposal, collection and storage of household and commercial refuse, the collection of recuperable materials, hazardous household waste (HHW), bulky waste, as well as hedge trimmings, tree branches and grass cuttings, construction refuse, etc.
Existing regulations reflect the environmental approach that the Town of Mount Royal adopted several years ago by promoting selective collection among its residents, thus diminishing the use of waste for landfill.
Unofficial consolidated version incorporating amendments up until By-law No. 1358-2 and By-law No. 1385 (2010).
