August to November, 2010 - Repair work under the elevated portion of Autoroute 40 and on the Querbes and du Parc overpasses near Town of Mount Royal

This work by the Quebec Transportation Department (MTQ) will require major closures in the coming weeks, including of some of the autoroute’s entrances and exits. This may cause traffic disruptions in areas alongside the Metropolitan Expressway. Detours will be indicated by signs put up by the MTQ.

Repair of the Querbes and du Parc overpasses spanning Autoroute 40 will necessitate the occasional closing of access to the eastbound service road next to the autoroute at Rockland Road and of westbound Exit No. 71 – Saint-Laurent Blvd., Acadie Blvd. The Querbes overpass, which provides access to Central Market from Mount Royal, will also be closed to vehicular traffic at various times.

Repair of the concrete underside of the elevated portion of Autoroute 40 will occasionally result in the partial blocking of the service roads. As a result, the number of traffic lanes on these roads will be reduced in both the industrial and the residential sectors. Also, despite the mitigation measures taken by the MTQ, the work will generate a certain amount of noise related to the removal of old concrete and application of new concrete with a spray gun.
